what can I put in my kids sandbox to keep fleas out of it? My kids always seem to break out with what looks like tiny bites when they play in the sand box. Any ideas as to what it could be? I'm guessing sand fleas but not sure.

There are little tiny bugs in my kids sandbox- How do I get rid of them without using harmful pesticides? I don't want to throw away all of the sand and buy new. I just bought this sand a few weeks ago. The sandbox IS covered , but not sealed when not in use.

The sand in my kids sandbox is moldy? It is a wooden sandbox that was biult last year and sand has sat it in for months now. I took the lid off (which yes-leaked water) and now its gross and molded. I want to clean it all out very well and get new sand but I don't know what to do with the old sand. Is it safe to put it in some rough places in our yard to even it out. Im very hesitant to do that since its so moldy. I dont know what to do with it.

What should I put around my kids sandbox to prevent the grass from dying? My kids sandbox is on the side of our garage. It runs the length of our garage and is approximately 5 feet wide. We have a problem with the kids getting sand in the grass and killing the grass. The sandbox is enclosed on all 4 sides but between the kids spilling and throwing sand, big piles of sand end up next to the sandbox killing the grass. Does anyone have any solutions to fix this problem? We will be selling our house within the year and want something that will look nice. Any help would be great. Serious comments only. Around where we live sand WILL make grass spotty and kill it in areas. As for making the kids understand, my youngest is a 1 year old.

Will the kids' new sandbox ruin the lawnmower? The kids just got a new sandbox which is under an apple tree on the lawn. My husband thinks the sand, which surely will find its way out of the sandbox and onto the lawn, will destroy the lawnmower when he goes to cut the grass. I think if there are any piles of sand in the grass, they can be scooped up and put back in the sandbox; any sand that can't be scooped up can be raked out over the grass and this will not affect the lawnmower when the grass needs to get cut. Who is right? Perhaps neither of us? Any tips or ideas welcome. I really do not want to move the sandbox, but will if I have to -- thanks.
