Are old children's shell sand pits ok for growing plants in? I have an old children's shell sand pit lying around in the shed, would this be ok for growing plants in. Does already have some cracks in it so the water will be able to drain, is there anything else that would be need to do if this would be ok.
Are there really sand pits in Australia like in the movie Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome? I just rented Mad Max beyond thonderdome a couple days ago & was wondering if there are really quicksand like pits in the deserts of Australia like they portrayed in the movie? What insect digs tiny sand pits in the ground? I see these shallow little holes in the yard every summer, hardly bigger than my fingertip. I can never figure out what makes them.
Is a Yamaha TTR 125 a good bike to ride in small sand pits and backyards? im a girl im 5'4'' and 110 lbs. im pretty experienced but my last bike was a ttr 90 so is it too big of a jump between bikes, considering the size and power difference of the bikes? should i just go with a 110cc?

What are these rainfall pits that are half sand, half grass, with a stone wall between? All around Austin, TX I see these artificial pits. They're fairly large, maybe a quarter of an acre, and rectangular in shape. Half is grass and half is sand, with a low stone wall separating the two halves. Where are some great trails/sand pits/quarry/freeride places in NJ to ride dirtbikes? I'm looking for some free riding places in NJ.. There are a few MX tracks, but I can not find any open pits, quarries or trails to ride my CR250 at. Some times I just get tired of riding around a track. Is play sand for sand pits safe? I'm looking for play sand for my daughters sand pit, but I've read so many scary stories about a lot of play sand containing termolite (a form of human carcinogenic asbestos) and crystalline silica, both of which can cause serious lung disease. I know shops wouldn't sell stuff the would damage our children, but you never know?! I would rather get natural (ie. stuff that looks like it comes from the beach) rather than stuff made from quarried quartz. Have you got play sand, if so where did you get it. I live in Scotland.

Why have I got fleas breeding in my sand pit? The sand is only a couple of weeks old and I keep the sand pit covered at all times when the kids aren't in it, so no animals have been in it. I am wanting to install a canopy over a sand pit for the kids.? The problem is i want to be able to have the canopy on or off. The area around the sandpit is being paved with brick. Can you repair windows on car peppered from a power washer that had sand in it? My son ran his car through his work carwash and it had sand or something in it. Now his car and the glass are peppered with tiny little pits. No, suing them is not an option. Is there something you can do for the glass. Why do my recently refinished wood floors have pits all over them? I have hardwood floors in the 1st floor of my home here in New England USA. I contracted a wood floor refinisher to strip and apply 4 coats of oil-based polyurethane which he did but the floors are full of small pits which make the floors look terrible. The contractor has applied 2 additional coats of Poly to try to fix the problem. The first time we had lots of fans going to try to get it to dry faster but that didn't fix it. The floor still has lots of little pits. The second time (this morning) he sanded, cleaned and applied another coat (#6) and we had the house all the windows closed so there are no drafts and the AC going and a dehumidifer to keep the humidity lower so it will dry faster which he claims will reduce the pits. No luck. The floors look terrible and now the Poly is getting pretty thick. Do I need to fire this guy? Or is he using poor quality Poly? Or should he start over in the fall when the humidity is lower? They original flooring refinisher claims that the problem is that he tried to put the coats on too quickly and didn't give them enough time to dry between coats. This certainly seems to be the case as the top surface is now hard but if we place any heavy furniture on it, it dents into the finish. His suggestion is to wait a month, then and down the finish and apply a coat of Bona Kemi premium water based poly. The key he _thinks_ is that the solvents that are stuck in all the layers of oil-based poly have to dry out before we try to put down another coat. Naturally I don't have a lot of faith in this guy. He is very experienced and other people have used him with excellent results. He says he just made a mistake with my floor and is willing to work it out. But we're getting another opinion from another flooring guy...

Young boy with mental issues thinks a water monster like the loch ness monster is calling him. he lives in a mill town and there is a lake which used to be an old rock quarry or sand pit or something. Later in the movie it is revealed that the monster is really just and old crane/back hoe. WHAT THE HECK IS IT CALLED!? i think it was made in the late eighties or early nineties. Treated wood for a childs sand box? My Father in law is making a sand box for my son with lumber treated with Copper Azole CA-B. I have looked at websites that give information on it, but I haven't found an answer that relates directly to sand boxes. is it unsafe to use railroad tyes to outline a sand box that kids play in if you rap them in something? they will leak the oil or whatever they are soaked in but if they were wrapped up with something before put in the ground what could i use and would it be safe.
