Is there a good way to clean a sandbox that a cat has used?
I have a portable sandbox, but the lid was left off the other day. I found cat footprints and other... um, evidence of cat activity. What do you suggest to make the sand box safe for play again?

- remove sand, wash and bleach- and put a cement block on the top of it next time.
- replace sand and clean container w/ bleach or another good disinfectant-and make it a point to put the lid back on after use
- The only safe bet would be to replace all the sand if you think just removing the "evidence" isn't going to be sanitary enough. I find sandboxes personally disgusting and made my son's (many, many years ago) into a little swimming pool instead. He at least was cleaner when he came out than he was in the sand. However, just make sure the lid gets back on next time.
- Just pooper scooper it pretty good, throw some new sand on it, and they'll be just fine!
